Swayambhu temple, also know as the monkey temple, is one of many temples in the Kathmandu valley of Nepal.  The temple is located in the western area of the valley and is high up in one of kathmandu’s surrounding mountains.  Stairs lead to different layers of the temple where visitors to the temple will find sites including a world peace pond, a swimming pool for the monkeys, prayer wheels, and shrines for offering gifts such as fire and flowers.
